St Mary's National School, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford

Mobile Devices

We fully understand that some children may need to bring a mobile phone to school in order for parents / guardians to contact them after school. The pupils in our school are not allowed to use their phones in school, unless they have been given permission by their class teacher. Phones should be off and secured in their school bag. Children will always have access to the school phone should a call need to be made home. If a child is found to have their phone on, or found using their phone, they will be asked to give it to their teacher. It will be stored in a locked classroom cupboard. Refusal to co-operate will be dealt with as a serious misbehaviour and a parent / guardian will be contacted. The phone will be returned after school to a parent / guardian. The school does not accept liability for loss or damage to mobile phones.
