Homework
It is the policy of our school to give homework from Monday to Thursday. Homework will always have been prepared in school and is expected to be completed fully. An explanation for incomplete homework or homework not done must be written by a parent / guardian in your child’s homework journal. Homework journals are used by all children from 1st to 6th Class. These journals should be checked each evening and signed by a parent / guardian. Infant homework is sent home in a homework folder. Homework is given to
-
consolidate work taught in school
-
give parents / guardians the opportunity to see what their child is learning in school
-
encourage children to develop the habit of studying and managing their time
-
enable children to develop good organisational skills
-
promote children’s independent learning
