Critical Incident
St Mary’s N.S. recognises a critical incident to be:
“ an incident or sequence of events that overwhelms the normal coping mechanisms of the school and disrupts the running of the school ”.
A critical incident may involve one or more pupils, staff, the school or our local community. The Board of Management has a Critical Incident Policy in place to help our school deal with such an event. In addition, a Critical Incident Management Team (C.I.M.T.) is also in place.
